Imbolg live at the 14th Annual Witchsfest USA

I have to say, for the first time in awhile I am at a loss for words. I have been on a consistent streak of posting weekly and I did not want to disrupt that. I also didn't want to write out of obligation. We all know how that usually ends up. And of course, I did not want to make something that was rushed (honestly, I still don't know what I should call this. Hey I figured you would appreciate me being straight out about it) The more I gave myself time to think, the more purpose I was able to find in this entry and here it goes. Here is more about us playing live at the 14th Annual Witchsfest USA :

I would like to start out by saying how absolutely mind-blowing last weekend at Witchsfest USA was. I know I touched upon this in my entry from last week, My Day in the Park but after experiencing it, the feelings really hit home. First off we have not played in NYC in years. That in itself is a trip. We have been consistently performing outside the area for various reasons. So to come back and once again perform right on a New York City Street was epic. There has always been something great about playing outside when weather permits.

I must say that the most difficult part all this was the planning. We had to not only bring out equipment but also all our merchandise and a place to sell it. I simply took it one step at a time. From our last band rehearsal last Friday to my drive back after putting all our gear away, to letting my hair down after throwing my Moonphase cloak over my shoulders on, and everything in between. But the in between is what everyone sees and will remember. From familiar faces that were anticipating seeing us perform again, to the onlookers who were drawn in because they just happened to be walking by we wanted to give each everyone of them our absolute best. Hoping that what we were expressing is something they can relate to while they were tapping along with the beat, swaying side by side or whatever method they use to focus in on what we were bringing. The vibe was astounding that day. It was not just that we had our parts down. They were infused in us. Note by note, verse by verse. We planned to share more with everyone (see the set list below) I even gave a hint of new music that we are going to work on as I looked up tp the sky and pointed out how infinite it is. Another great thing about performing outside.

I do you want to also point out that there was plenty more going on besides our performance. We had the pleasure of once again, working with a legendary Ian Fford (who I also interviewed years ago in my entry Behind the Booth: an indepth look into the world of the DJ Featuring interviews with DJs Ian Fford & Alex Von Nihil) As well as the Winter Court not to mention all of the free workshops, vendors, and dancers (which almost made me name this Dancing in the Street) all of which can be seen on the official Witchsfest USA home page and this article about the event by Stacie Joy And I also urge everyone to visit the websites of the charities that Witchsfest's "Witches Giving Back" is supporting : 1

Last but not least, we wanted to share with our performance at the 14th annual Witchsfest with all of you who were not able to attend. We hope that seeing this will make you as if you were there. Thanks again for reading.

Best Always, Nate xoxo
